LibreOffice Template Contest – Win awesome prizes!

LibreOffice comes with various templates, and extras are available on our dedicated extensions and templates website. But even more are always welcome! Today, Swiss company Adfinis, a contributor to LibreOffice and member of The Document Foundation’s Advisory Board, is starting a contest to get shiny new templates for LibreOffice.

OpenOffice crashing on macOS Big Sur? Try LibreOffice

Some Apache OpenOffice users are reporting that version 4.1.8 is crashing on Apple macOS 11.0 (aka “Big Sur” or 10.16) when opening OOXML documents – like .docx and .xlsx. The error message is:

FOSDEM 2021: LibreOffice DevRoom Call for Papers

FOSDEM 2021 will be a virtual event, taking place online on Saturday, February 6, and Sunday, February 7 (https://fosdem.org/2021/). The LibreOffice DevRoom is scheduled for Sunday, February 7, from 9AM to 7PM (times to be confirmed).

NEW RULES FOR 2021

  • The reference time will be Brussels local time (CET).
  • Talks will be pre-recorded in advance, and streamed during the event
  • Q/A session will be live
  • A facility will be provided for people watching to chat amongst themselves
  • A facility will be provided for people watching to submit questions

  • November kicked off with a new Month of LibreOffice. This is a campaign we run twice a year, in which we award sticker packs (and the chance to win some bonus merchandise) to all contributors in the LibreOffice project.
