Here’s our summary of updates, events and activities in the LibreOffice project in the last four weeks β click the links to learn more…
- We started April by announcing the LibreOffice Writer Guide 26.2. This is an extensive handbook full of tutorials, tips and tricks for the software. A huge thanks to everyone who helped to work on it!

- Next, we posted the LibreOffice State of the Project, April 2025 β March 2026, based on data extracted from the LibreOffice dashboard and the Matomo repository.

- There was another update from the documentation team: a facelift for the LibreOffice Bookshelf.

- Then we reported back from the Chemnitzer Linux-Tage, where the German-speaking LibreOffice community was present with a stand and merchandise.

- In other event news, the Indian LibreOffice community took part in Document Freedom Day 2026 in Noida. They even had a cake π

- And there’s more: we attended the Grazer Linuxtage and gave a talk about what LibreOffice is, where it’s going, and how anyone can get involved to improve it.

- We have a new developer in The Document Foundation team! Vissarion Fisikopoulos joins us to work initially on LibreOffice Base and databases more broadly, with a focus on Base itself and the ways database functionality connects with the rest of the suite.

- Jiajun Xu wrote two articles looking back at the LibreOffice Asia Conf 2025, specifically the Panel: Lessons from Open Source Business β part 1 and part 2.

- LibreOffice is available in over 120 languages, but we need help maintaining the translations (and adding more). We reached out for Swahili speakers β and have already heard from volunteers, so a big thank you to them! π Of course, everyone is welcome to localise LibreOffice in languages that they know…

- At the end of March, the InstallFest 2026 conference took place in Prague, and members of the Czech-speaking LibreOffice community were there. In April, they published their report from the event.

- And finally, we wrapped up the month with the release of LibreOffice 26.2.3. This is the third bugfix release in our latest stable branch.
