LibreOffice project and community recap: December 2023
Here’s our summary of updates, events and activities in the LibreOffice project in the last four weeks – click the links to learn more…
- We started December by announcing the winners in the Month of LibreOffice, November 2023. 363 contributors were eligible to claim sticker packs – and we gave out some bonus merch to 10 special winners too!
- Then we talked to Robert Cabane, who’s helping out in LibreOffice’s QA community.
- On December 5, our documentation community announced the LibreOffice Calc Guide 7.6, reflecting the changes and updates in the newest version of the suite. Great work, everyone! 💪
- We had two updates for the software in December:
LibreOffice 7.6.4 and 7.5.9. All users are recommended to download and install the latest releases.
- Meanwhile, we prepared a Security Backgrounder document that describes – in language accessible to everyone, including non-security specialists – the impressive work done by developers and quality assurance specialists in the area of LibreOffice security.
- The second of our community interviews was with Dominique Prieur, who gives courses on LibreOffice and is working with the Orléans prison in France to develop office automation workshops.
- Suraj Bhattarai, our Liaison for the LibreOffice Nepali Community, sent us a report from the LibreOffice Localization Sprint 2023. What a fantastic effort!
- And finally, on the last day of the year, we said thanks to the whole LibreOffice community for all the support and contributions throughout 2023. We look forward to making 2024 another great year for our projects and community!
