Here’s our summary of updates, events and activities in the LibreOffice project in the last four weeks – click the links to learn more… We started the month by posting a video from Document Freedom Day celebrations with the Nepalese LibreOffice community. We continued to post sections from The Document Foundation’s Annual Report 2024: foundation activities, LibreOffice in 2024 and the LibreOffice Conference. Later in April we were present at the Augsburger Linux-InfoDay 2025. And finally, we reported on the German government’s IT Planning Council committing to open standards (including ODF) by 2027. Here’s our summary of updates, events and activities in the LibreOffice project in the last four weeks – click the links to learn more… On the 11th, we announced LibreOffice 24.2.5, the fifth minor update to the latest major release. This includes 70 bug and compatibility fixes, and all users are recommended to update. (The previous branch, LibreOffice 7.6, is no longer maintained.) Throughout the month, we posted several sections from TDF’s Annual Report covering 2023: Documentation, Websites and Blogs, Design and Native Language Projects. Meanwhile, LibreOffice’s Design community produced mockups for a potential peer-to-peer collaboration feature. And finally, the QA team announced LibreOffice 24.8 RC1 – the first Release Candidate for what will become the final version in late August. Please help us to test it! Here’s our summary of updates, events and activities in the LibreOffice project in the last four weeks – click the links to learn more… We started May by announcing a new Month of LibreOffice campaign! We run these every six months, encouraging LibreOffice users to become contributors, and join our community. And just one day later, we announced LibreOffice 24.2.3, the third bugfix revision to the most recent stable branch of the software. But we’re also maintaining the older LibreOffice 7.6 branch for a while longer, and on 10 May we released LibreOffice 7.6.7. Next up was another announcement: Projects selected for LibreOffice in the Google Summer of Code 2024. Join us for this year’s LibreOffice Conference 2024! It will take place in Luxembourg from 10 – 12 October. But a bit closer is a LibreOffice Hackfest in Budapest, which will take place on June 4 and 5. And finally, in May we started posting sections from TDF’s Annual Report 2023. Here’s our summary of updates, events and activities in the LibreOffice project in the last four weeks – click the links to learn more… We started August by posting the full version of TDF’s Annual Report 2022. The Document Foundation is the non-profit entity behind LibreOffice, and our report highlights community and project activities in the previous year. Check it out! Next up was a double gift from the LibreOffice documentation team: Impress Guide 7.5 and Draw Guide 7.5. Big thanks to everyone who helped to update the guides 👍 Our native-language communities use Weblate to translate LibreOffice’s user interface. Thanks to donations, The Document Foundation has been able to fund some Weblate improvements, to help all users. The Debian Project was officially founded by Ian Murdock 30 on August 16, 1993. The Debian Community celebrates its birthday, Debian Day, on this day each year. And we celebrated 30 years with them, as they are one of the organizations supporting the LibreOffice project since day one. The biggest news in August was the release of LibreOffice 7.6, with a bunch of new features and updates. Many thanks to all community members, developers and ecosystem companies that contributed to this release!

Here’s our summary of updates, events and activities in the LibreOffice project in the last four weeks – click the links to learn more… We started June by announcing the LibreOffice Conf Asia x UbuCon Asia 2023, in Indonesia, an event that brings together Linux and Open Source Software (OSS) activists, contributors, users, communities, and businesses in the Asia region. It will take place from 6 – 8 October 2023 – find out more here! Meanwhile, LibreOffice project volunteers received a cool tribute from the Mexican “Instituto Integración Down”. Nice 👍 Next up: we announced the winners in the Month of LibreOffice, May 2023. Sticker packs and extra merchandise are on their way… On June 8, TDF announced LibreOffice 7.5.4 Community, the fourth minor update to the 7.5 family. How can we make LibreOffice and the Thunderbird email client work better together? That’s a question we asked, and we posted some ideas from our communities. Let’s make them happen!
