LibreOffice Dark Mode: Manual switch to enable/disable coming in 7.5.1
LibreOffice 7.5 introduced a new Dark Mode, activated automatically to match your system settings. But many of you asked for a manual switch, so our Design community has implemented it for the next update – LibreOffice 7.5.1, in two weeks!
I downloaded 7.5.1.1 for Windows 10 x64 but cannot find the selection switch. I expected to find it in Tools > Options > LibreOffice > View. Not in Application Colours or Personalisation either. Please can you show the path to this switch. Thankyou.
I have been told “The fix for tdf#153229 was merged after RC1, so it will only be in 7.5.1.2.” Thankyou mikekaganski on Ask.LibreOffice
I hate that. There is absolutely no way to hack that back to light mode? Do I really need to wait 2 weeks for that fix? Geez…
Patrick, LibreOffice is a volunteer-driven project with very limited resources. Volunteers work really hard to give you (and the world) a free office suite. If you “hate” something about it, you can help them to improve it for you, or at least be a bit patient – they’re working hard for you.
Shout-out to Caolán McNamara, who made it happen! And also to the translators who updated the needed strings.
Thank you LO team for implementing this change!
My LO was perfectly configurated to dark mode that I did in manual way and now is totall desconfigurated after this update!!
Two weeks from February 17? I can’t wait! Did anyone look at the toolbars? I can hardly see them. Sorry if I don’t sound appreciative, but I’ve spent hours trying to find a toolbar color command.
Robert, which OS and desktop environment are you using? Looks like the automatic icon theme switch is not working.
More important than dark theme features, are the backports and security fixes of each version, iam in 7.4.5 and hold stay in.
