Dear Contributors,
First of all thank you for your great software. It’s great from many perspectives and mostly developing faster which is nice.
But except “Base” ..! Orphan kid of the family right?
Sometimes I am thinking of if TDF wants to kill “Base”.
Why? Recent versions of Ubuntu (widest end user linux distro) was not installing defaultly of the “Libreoffice Base”. Could this be an agreed mutual sign to kill “Libreoffice Base” in nearest future?
So if yes there is no any reason to me to use the linux because of there is no any matured “database” manager featuring like “Libreoffice Base” (Sub-forms, power reporting, tight integration etc.)
It’s a great interface tool for every size of database needs. (Postgres, mysql, etc.)
Native linux database clients Kexi and Glom are looking some far away from production use.
Thank you.

Hi, TDF is not a company or a person – it’s a non-profit foundation, supported by its members. If Ubuntu chooses not to include Base in a default install, that’s their decision and nothing to do with TDF.
Regarding Base itself, of course there are no plans to “kill” it. If it hasn’t received updates for a while, it’s simply because nobody has stepped up to work on it. LibreOffice is a volunteer-driven, community open source project with limited resources – new features and updates don’t just happen magically. If you want more features in Base, contribute back to the community, or consider funding a certified developer!
In that way, you get the features you want, Base keeps improving, and developers get support too. Everyone wins 🙂

Às vezes, estou pensando se o TDF quer matar o “Base”.
Por quê? As versões recentes do Ubuntu (a distribuição Linux mais ampla do usuário final) não estavam instalando o “Libreoffice Base” como padrão. Vou instalar já
