…until the Call for Papers deadline of the LibreOffice Conference closes. If you have something interesting to tell about LibreOffice, if you hack on the code, if you are involved in the community, or if you have something exciting to share – let us know!
LibreOffice Conference registration is open
The registration for the LibreOffice Conference, taking place in Paris from October 12th to 15th, is now open. Everyone interested in joining the first annual meeting of the LibreOffice community is invited to register online at

to help the organizers in planning.
The LibreOffice Conference will be the event for those interested in the development of free office productivity software, open standards, and the OpenDocument format generally, and is an exciting opportunity to meet community members, developers and hackers. It is sponsored by Cap Digital, Région Île de France, IRILL, Canonical, Google, La Mouette, Novell/SUSE, Red Hat, AF 83, Ars Aperta and Lanedo.
The Call for Papers is also open until July 22nd, and paper submissions will be reviewed by a community committee.
We look forward meeting you in the heart of France, celebrating the first year of LibreOffice, and discussing the plans for the next months.

Five tracks on development, community and ODF
Community jury invites speakers to send in papers until July 22nd
The LibreOffice Community today announces the Call for Papers for its first annual meeting, the LibreOffice Conference (LibOCon), taking place in Paris from October 12th to 15th. The event is sponsored and supported by Region Île-de-France, Cap Digital, Novell, Canonical, Google, Red Hat, La Mouette, Ars Aperta, AF 83 and IRILL.
The Conference, organized by the community, is dedicated for developers, localizers, marketeers, designers, QA volunteers and everyone interested in furthering the development of the free office suite.
Speakers are encouraged to send in their proposals for the four tracks: development, community building, marketing, and the ODF MasterClass. In addition, there will be an on-site technical bird of feather sessions with a series of ten minutes lightning talks and discussions.
The final deadline is on Friday, July 22nd. Each proposal will be evaluated by a committee of community members, and speakers will be informed shortly thereafter.

Progress on the LibreOffice Conference
The LibreOffice Conference will take place in Paris, France, from October 12th to 15th. A lot of progress has been made in the last weeks. As Charles Schulz stated on the marketing mailing list, we’re right now compiling a program committee to review and accept papers, which also means a public Call for Papers can be expected soon.
