Here’s our summary of updates, events and activities in the LibreOffice project in the last four weeks – click the links to learn more… We started August by posting the full version of TDF’s Annual Report 2022. The Document Foundation is the non-profit entity behind LibreOffice, and our report highlights community and project activities in the previous year. Check it out! Next up was a double gift from the LibreOffice documentation team: Impress Guide 7.5 and Draw Guide 7.5. Big thanks to everyone who helped to update the guides 👍 Our native-language communities use Weblate to translate LibreOffice’s user interface. Thanks to donations, The Document Foundation has been able to fund some Weblate improvements, to help all users. The Debian Project was officially founded by Ian Murdock 30 on August 16, 1993. The Debian Community celebrates its birthday, Debian Day, on this day each year. And we celebrated 30 years with them, as they are one of the organizations supporting the LibreOffice project since day one. The biggest news in August was the release of LibreOffice 7.6, with a bunch of new features and updates. Many thanks to all community members, developers and ecosystem companies that contributed to this release!

Here’s our summary of updates, events and activities in the LibreOffice project in the last four weeks – click the links to learn more… We started July by welcoming Michael Weghorn to The Document Foundation, the non-profit behind LibreOffice. Michael is a developer and will initially focus on accessibility improvements. Talking of the TDF team: in June, team members met in Munich to discuss ideas and proposals for the community and software. They worked on lots of topics – and now we’ve uploaded the report of the meeting. Check it out and let us know what you think! More news from the foundation: the Membership Committee (MC), which is responsible for managing membership applications and renewals, announced a new membership management system called Proteus. Meanwhile, our documentation and localisation communities did some great work: they updated the Getting Started Guide to LibreOffice 7.5, and finished a Czech translation of the LibreOffice Draw Guide 7.4. Awesome! We had one release in July, LibreOffice 7.5.5. This is the fifth maintenance release of the LibreOffice 7.5 branch, and all users are recommended to get the update. Here’s our summary of updates, events and activities in the LibreOffice project in the last four weeks – click the links to learn more… We started June by announcing the LibreOffice Conf Asia x UbuCon Asia 2023, in Indonesia, an event that brings together Linux and Open Source Software (OSS) activists, contributors, users, communities, and businesses in the Asia region. It will take place from 6 – 8 October 2023 – find out more here! Meanwhile, LibreOffice project volunteers received a cool tribute from the Mexican “Instituto Integración Down”. Nice 👍 Next up: we announced the winners in the Month of LibreOffice, May 2023. Sticker packs and extra merchandise are on their way… On June 8, TDF announced LibreOffice 7.5.4 Community, the fourth minor update to the 7.5 family. How can we make LibreOffice and the Thunderbird email client work better together? That’s a question we asked, and we posted some ideas from our communities. Let’s make them happen! At the upcoming LibreOffice Conference 2023, there’ll be a workshop about getting started with development of the suite.
