LibreOffice 3.3.1 brings new colored icons
The Internet, February 23, 2011 – The Document Foundation announces LibreOffice 3.3.1, the first micro release of the free office suite for personal productivity, to improve the stability of the software and eliminate crashes affecting the Windows version. LibreOffice 3.3.1 also brings new colorful icons based on The Document Foundation branding guidelines, and includes updates to several language versions. More details can be found in the official press release.
Could you prove an image of the new icons?

First off, thanks for your work and the motivation you put into it so far, I’ll make sure to see if I can also donate for your progress here in Germany.
Just a small question, though:
I now downloaded the new 3.3.1 release for installation, so, doing the whole installation progress again.
Will future minor-upgrades like this be spread through some kind of auto-update procedure, or will I have to reinstall the whole thing for every release? I really hope it will be done through auto-updates as, well, constant updates are certainly nice, but if each minor one requires a full new setup that would certainly not feel very convenient.
At least in this case there was no auto-update notice of any kind.
Again, thanks for your work, best wishes and regards from me.
Greetings
I agree with RealZero – it’s incredibly frustrating to install whole suite just because of minor updates, but it’s even worse when you have to install again all the extensions.
This should be fixed.
Why does the installer still open an Oracle web page? Why is there no way to check for updates from inside LibO, even manually?
The 3.3.1 installer behaved as if I went to Add/Remove Programs to uninstall 3.3.0 — is this correct?
New icons are great, but there is new problem — now I can’t differentiate documents with the same name in different formats. For example, if I export ODT -> DOC I have to check only by extension where is what…
Are any plans for next versions to update icons collection do show differences?

The update does need to be simplified. Also, I really miss the quick start menu in the Windows system tray. I used it all the time. Please add this to LibreOffice.
I agree with RealZero too. the updatefeature does not work as documented – and why does the final installer-routine of “install_multi” lead us to “OpenOffice”
but any way – a great job

OS – Fedora-7.
Вторая сборка LibreOffice 3.3.0, 3.3.1 и те-же проблемы с открытием документов (Open documents – crash!!!) – как-то все сыро.

Сборка от ORACLE-3.3.0 – all=OK – работает!
I agree with the comments re update procedure. I want to try v 3.3.1 but can’t stand the hassle.
RE: Word compatibility which is so important (for me and probably many): I often have docts which do not import the same, mainly frustrating things like not quite fitting pages in Libre/OO when they do in Word. My documents ALWAYS seem to just run over a sheet (like every web page, and so many from businesses) & when I have just squeezed them in in Word they still don’t in OO/L – a current doc is a good example! I can’t find an easy link to report such details, which should be separate from the blog.

I use a lot LibreOffice Draw to make foorball playbooks and other stuff like manuals etc. How ever, Draw should support svg-images natively. Not only as imported images. it should be svg -editor also and one Draw format should be svg. On other thing is very anoying. When you make a vertical line and you try to move it from one end. You just can’t get is vertical anymore! It’s allway one pix up or down. There should be no steps when you rotate or move thins – it must be exact!
I agree on easier upgrade prosedure. Uninstalla-Install just is not right way to do it! This should be done like they do it Firefox. It updates in the bacground and just ask when to do it.
I would like to see football gallery here in LO. I would like to it, but I just can’t figure out how to make the gallery and save it. I would like to use svg-images for everything, formations, cones, bads, players, grid ot the fiels it selves. Also the drawing tools must be better. Now they are very very basic (but working).
Anyhow – LibreOffice is great. I just don’t like to do major installation for minor upgrade!
I agree that the i-cons can be made to look a little prettier, the quick menu in windows startup being removed is also disappointing, I personally enjoyed that feature. additionally and more important is being able to differ on documents of different formats as was mentioned above.
Just a few suggestions and thank you for providing libre office for free
The designs of the new LibreOffice icons are very nice … Congratulations!
Has the bug where (formerly) Impress crops away edges when printing been fixed?

Tried to install 3.3.0 on Windows 7 64 bit… it failed. Will there be a 64 bit version forthcoming?
