Second Bug Hunting Session for LibreOffice 5.3

LibreOffice 5.3 will be announced at the end of January 2017, with a large number of new features which are summarized on the release notes page: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/ReleaseNotes/5.3. In order to find, report and triage bugs, the QA team is organizing a second bug hunting session on Friday, November 25, 2016. Tests will be performed on the Beta version of LibreOffice 5.3, which will be available on the pre-releases server (http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/pre-releases/) a few days before the event. Builds will be available for Linux (DEB and RPM), MacOS and Windows, and will run in parallel with the production version. Mentors will be available on November 25, 2016, from 8AM UTC to 10PM UTC. Of course, hunting bugs will be possible also on other days, as the builds of this particular Beta release (LibreOffice 5.3.0 Beta1) will be available until mid December. During the day there will be two dedicated sessions: the first to chase bugs on the main LibreOffice modules between 3PM UTC and 5PM UTC, and the second to test a set of the top 7 features between 5PM UTC and 7PM UTC. Friday 24 June: Next Bug Hunting Session

As we mentioned last week, we are holding a Bug Hunting Session on Friday 24 June, from 07:00 to 20:00 UTC, and everyone is welcome to take part. Coming up: the next LibreOffice Bug Hunting Session

A new release of LibreOffice is coming up – so help to make it the best version ever! LibreOffice 5.2 is due to be released at the start of August, and developers are busy working on new features and updates. With so many changes in the next version, we’d really appreciate your help finding bugs so that we can squash them! To this end we’ll be holding a Bug Hunting Session on Friday 24 June, from 07:00 to 20:00 UTC. Anyone can take part at any time – it’s simple and fun! All you have to do is download the latest development release, try out the new features, and report bugs on our IRC chat channel. Even if you can only spare half an hour of your time, it’s a great help to make LibreOffice better than ever before – and you can show off a badge like the one above! Third bug hunting session for LibreOffice 5.1

Berlin, January 7, 2016 – The LibreOffice community is working hard on the next major release of LibreOffice 5.1 – planned for early February – with a bug hunting session focused on new features and fixes for bugs and regressions, to test the second release candidate. The session will last 3 days, from January 15 to January 17, 2016. On those dates, mentors will be available from 08AM UTC to 10PM UTC to help volunteers to triage bugs, on the QA IRC channel and via email on the QA mailing list. In addition, there will be two dedicated sessions for Writer between 3PM UTC and 5PM UTC on Friday, January 15, and for Calc between 3PM UTC and 5PM UTC on Saturday, January 16. During the dedicated sessions, mentors and volunteers will concentrate all the efforts on a single module with the objective of confirming, reproducing and documenting bugs and regressions in a better way. The session will last 3 days, from December 4 to December 6, 2015, and will be focused on the beta of LibreOffice 5.1. On those dates, mentors will be available from 08AM UTC to 10PM UTC to help less experienced volunteers to triage bugs, on the QA IRC channel and via email on the QA mailing list. Those who cannot join during the bug hunting session are always welcome to help chasing bugs and regressions when they have time.
