There are already a PPA where you can find the latest version (ppa:libreoffice/ppa) and a PPA for pre-releases (ppa:libreoffice/libreoffice-prereleases) which are unofficially maintained by Ubuntu. If you are using Debian, you can find the latest version of LibreOffice in Testing, Unstable and Experimental (maintained by Rene Engelhard).

the Linux installer downloads this file:
LibO_3.6.4_Linux_x86_install-deb_en-US.tar.gz
which contains this directory:
LibO_3.6.4.3_Linux_x86_install-deb_en-US...
Whereas the Help file is named and contains what the upgrade says it is: LibO_3.6.4_Linux_x86_helppack-deb_en-US.tar.gz...
